Flavoursome yakatori at its best. Super friendly atmosphere and service. No English menu but we worked it out between us. Cold beer and Saki available. We enjoyed momo (thigh). Oishi.
Absolutely a must visit. Very inviting owners made us very welcome. We didn't book but probably worth it as it only seats 8. No english menu but owner looked after us. Food was chicken served 5 ways and it was all great. We also had some vegetables.
People were friendly and it had a nice atmosphere. Food was delicious and it was explained well enough in English what everything was. We went with the chef's recommendation and didn't regret, then also ordered one of every other kind just to try it. Seems that the chef has traveled through Europe by bike 10 years ago and loves his wine!
Between the food, the service, and the experience with locals in the bar, this was one of the best experiences that I've had in Kyoto. I would highly recommend stopping by this Izakaya if you're new to town. A side note to remember is that it's a small establishment, and you may need to come back when it's less full.
It's a small place, but the hospitality and the food were outstanding. The owners were fantastic, and we really enjoyed every dish they served us. Very delicious food. We will definitely return next time we are in Kyoto.
